Sampson

I am an adult, neutered male Shih Tzu / Bichon Frise Mix. I am current on my shots and have tested heartworm negative.  I have a transferable microchip. 

My foster friends write: Sampson is too fast for film....we'll try to get some better shots soon. This guy can't be more than ten pounds. He's an older adult but still has a lot of get up and go. He loves going to the park and never wants to leave. Sampson doesn't have all of his teeth and may need a soft diet. He can eat biscuits, but it takes him a while. He is good with other dogs and cats.

My foster friends write: Shadow is a real cutie that was at the pound 3 1/2 months before he was rescued. That's a record and a real testament to his character. Most dogs start to go kennel crazy before 2 months. Shadow was still doing okay, he just stopped eating. We knew we had to rescue him. He is now putting weight back one and enjoying going to the park and for car rides.

 My foster friends write: Copper is a real cutie and still a youngster - probably around a year old. Copper knows "sit" and likes to give kisses. He has a gorgeous tiger-stripped brindle coat. Copper is great around other dogs and loves people. He loves chew toys and car rides. He did great at "Second Saturday", a monthly art walk, and navigated through the crowds with ease. Copper is good on a leash. He loves for you to shoot water from the hose so that he can chase it.

Smurfy

He loves car rides and is easy on the leash.  Smurfy may have been mistreated in the past. He is afraid of people cowering over him and people talking harshly to him. He is bouncy and happy, and will blossom in the right environment with someone that will take the time to show him new things & build up his confidence.  

I need an owner who will go slow and teach me how to be an indoor special dog. I've spent most of my life chained outdoors. I need to be the only dog and in a home without children. I need some socialization. I am friendly and need a chance to thrive.

I know how to sit and would love to learn how to catch a ball or Frisbee. I am energetic. ( I calm down outside of the kennel) I should be the only dog. I like to get all the belly rubs.  I'm pretty compact, so you could bring a picnic if we hike or go to the beach. Just a thought!!

I am a volunteer favorite. Here is why: great with other dogs, play and learn quickly. My tail wags constantly and I am very affectionate. I was an inside dog with kids aged 8-12 under my watch. For this I was allowed to sleep on the bed!!! Do you have room in your heart and home for me??

I am currently in the fixer upper state. I came in so matted and flea bitten all the staff could do was shave me. I know I look awful. I do feel better though. I want a home who wants to take care of me. I need a good trip to the Vet. I probably need my teeth cleaned and a good diet. In about 6-8 months of good care no one will ever believe I looked like this. Are you up for the challenge I am???
